Tod'Aérs welcomes a new Senior Advisor: Dr. Oraléou Djandja

Dr. Oraléou Djandja (Togo) has been appointed as Senior Advisor of Global Operations & Partnerships at Tod’Aérs Global Network [TGN]. He joined Tod'Aérs Global Network [TGN] in December 2020 as Research Advisor. Ever since he has supervised several projects focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7): “affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all” by 2030. In 2022, he was appointed as the Project Advisor and Lead of the Energy Division of the network under the Global Development Policy Initiative (GDPi).

Dr. Oraléou Djandja (Togo) is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical Engineering and Energy Technology at Dongguan University of Technology. His research focuses on the preparation of clean biofuels and bio-based value-added materials (such as carbon material for energy storage) from the conversion of non-food biomass and organic solid wastes through thermochemical processing (especially hydrothermal treatment and pyrolysis). He aims in providing new ways for biofuel synthesis and also highlighting the reaction mechanism in order to push forward the technology of biomass and waste conversion into modern bioenergy.

Given the growing interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms in various fields, Dr. Oraléou Djandja is employing ML in the field of thermochemical processing of biomass and organic solid waste, for the prediction of fuel properties and the interpretation of the impact of numerous factors involved during the conversion process. These algorithms not only help to get a holistic appreciation of the impact of the various processing parameters but are also very helpful in predicting optimal conditions prior to future experiments, thus saving time and resources. He has authored several SCI-indexed papers and contributed to one Chinese patent in the field.
