Former IMF Exec Director & Senior Central Banker H.E. Benny Andersen joins Tod'Aérs' Governing Board

The Former IMF Executive Director His Excellency Mr. Benny Andersen (United States/Denmark) joins the Governing Board of Tod’Aérs Global Network [TGN]. His Excellency Mr. Benny Andersen was elected to the IMF Executive Board by the Nordic-Baltic countries, where he served in various positions for 10 years, including the role of Senior Advisor to the Board.

In this capacity, he advised the IMF membership on macroeconomic and financial stability issues - including the IMF’s annual health checks of member countries’ economies, IMF financing of programs to help countries address the temporary balance of payments problems, and policy issues relevant to the global economy and capacity building.

Prior to that, H.E. Benny Andersen worked at the Central Bank of Denmark where he held senior managerial positions in areas covering international economics, international relations, financial stability, government debt management, and financial risk management. Moreover, he has been a Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Denmark in the United States and has served as a Senior Consultant for the European Union (EU)'s European Stability Mechanism (ESM).

H.E. Benny Andersen has a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Copenhagen where he also held various teaching positions. He has authored an analysis of the Greek economic and financial crisis for the European Stability Mechanism and written a chapter on the global financial crisis in a 2020 book on the progress and power of central banks.
